Adding access to report services site
Adding access to report services site
Go to http://thnslassql02/reports
You can click folder settings from here and add access at the root level which will then inherit down through the folder structure……we should probably use this level sparingly for most end users especially when/if we start adding financial reports to this site. To give access to a specific folder click the dropdown arrow to the right of the folder and select Security.
To add new access click the New Role Assignment then either enter the user’s AD account info or the AD security group name prefixed with TH\. I have found that using a security group here doesn’t always work quite right if it inherits membership from other security groups. (i.e. I initially added NSLA Sec Team which inherits from NSLA Sec Maintenance, NSLA Sec Accounting, etc.) but none of the users in the “sub” groups had access when I tested. If a user has direct membership in a security group it works just fine (i.e. our NSLA Sec IT group for us). Finally you have to tell it what type of access, most users will not need anything other than Browser.
